Another way to do this addition without writing is to add 1 in 24 and subtract 1 from 16 as it is easier to add 25 and 15.

Fantoosh had 64 rupees. He spent 39 rupees at the fair. How much money is left with him?

Answer:

Another way to do this without writing is to add 1 in both 64 and 39, as it is easier to subtract 40 from 65.

Fantoosh is now left with 25 rupees.
